A New MASTERPIECE!
This year, MASTERPIECE THEATRE will begin its thirty-seventh year of programming and educational outreach. During its storied history—the longest-running prime-time drama in American television—has remained steadfast in its commitment to bringing viewers the best in literature-based drama, mysteries filled with eclectic characters, and groundbreaking contemporary works.
In 2008, the shows will be scheduled in three themed collections or “seasons.” Each will be presented with stunning new graphics and introduced by its own unique host. In winter and spring, MASTERPIECE CLASSIC will feature beloved, signature period dramas like Bleak House, Jane Eyre, and The Complete Jane Austen. In summer, MASTERPIECE MYSTERY! will continue to present the best British mysteries such as The Inspector Lynley Mysteries and Miss Marple. And in fall, MASTERPIECE CONTEMPORARY will feature dramas set in today’s world such as Reckless, the acclaimed White Teeth, and our Emmy-award-winning Prime Suspect.
