Now in its 33rd year, The NewsHour continues to provide in-depth reporting and analysis of current events with a news summary, live studio interviews, discussions and both foreign and domestic on-site reports. Jim Lehrer and Robin MacNeil began The MacNeil/Lehrer Report in 1975. Lehrer has been honored with numerous awards for journalism, including a presidential National Humanities Medal in 1999. In the last five presidential elections, he moderated ten of the nationally televised candidate debates.

Judy Woodruff is the senior correspondent and leads in-studio discussions, reports from the field and conducts interviews for The NewsHour. She joins the highly-regarded senior correspondents, which includes Jeffrey Brown, Gwen Ifill, Ray Suarez and Margaret Warner.
